A high school basketball coach was arrested Wednesday morning after he was accused of hiding video recording devices in the boys locker room.
Scott D. Studer, 46, of 5141 Pin Oak Ave. NW in Jackson Township, was arrested at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday on six counts of illegal use of minors in nudity-oriented material, Stark County court records show.
The cameras in the boys locker room at Jackson High School were focused on the shower area, and Studer was believed to have placed them there, Police Chief David Zink said, adding that he had been implicated in the production of videos as well.
Studer resigned from his posts as building aide and head freshman basketball coach when he was arrested at his home by police detectives and U.S. Postal inspectors, who went to the house armed with a search warrant, the chief said.
Township police, school district officials and the Stark County Prosecutor?s Office planned a news conference for 5 p.m. today.
The charges against Studer are second-degree felonies punishable upon conviction by a maximum sentence of eight years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
